We have online tutorials on this page, www.prompterpeople.com/installation_guides to guide you in setting up your computer before your open Flip-Q. Select and view the appropriate videos for Mac or PC and for reversing or non-reversing monitors.|
As of 10/1/2013 all Prompter People monitors have built-in reversing. With reversing monitors you do not need to set up in extended desktop mode and you should not be checking "secondary display" in FlipQ
Setup is simply duplicating your desktop and sending the signal either HDMI or VGA to our monitor. You may have to change the monitor's input selection to "HDMI" using your monitor remote or the menu.
but you should still view our tutorials to be sure you are setting up at the correct resolution for smooth scrolling.
With non-reversing monitors, (like our older base-model 15, 17 and 19" models) the reversing is done by Flip-Q, our powerful dual screen software that leaves the operators window unreversed and the prompters text reversed for the beamsplitter or mirror.
Flip-Q does this by using it's dual screen mode and the computer needs to be setup properly first BEFORE YOU OPEN FLIP-Q, view our video tutorials that will guide you on how to set up in extended desktop mode. In extended desktop mode you only see your computer's desktop background on our prompter monitor, with no desktop icons.
Once you are setup like this you should start Flip-Q, check the secondary display button and select mirrored to reverse the text on the prompter. If you cannot check the secondary button or you get an automation error you are either not setup correctly or you need to update your video adapter driver (we also have an article on this). In extended desktop mode the resolution, color quality and refresh rate must match exactly on both monitors, you set this in your display settings.
