Flip-q on Mac un-registers
Posted by chuck@prompterpeople.com - NA - on 19 August 2016 11:12 PM

The following is to help support customers on Macs whose Flip-Q software seems to “de-register” itself which is actually the registration “plist” file going missing from the Mac.

If the file “com.prompterpeople.FlipQ.plist” is not in your preferences folder you will need to re-register Flip-Q.  you may need to contact Prompter People support with help on this.

We also suggest making a copy of your Flip-Q plist file, follow the instructions below to locate it.  When you locate it double click on the file to open it and copy it and save it somewhere you can easily find it, like in your documents folder.  If it does go missing you can just paste it back into the preferences folder so our app can find it when it opens.

Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder

Type or copy/paste:    ~/Library/Preferences

Click Go

You should find the com.prompterpeople.FlipQ.plist file in the Preferences folder.

If it is missing and you didn’t make a copy for backup you will need to contact PrompterPeople support to reset your license in our database.

This from one of our users:

“I did manage to locate a plist file for prompterpeople.  There was also an associated lock file which is unusual for a plist.   I deleted both files then registered the software.   The registration remained following a reboot of the host Mac. “
